Stress & Anxiety Counselling in Okotoks & Calgary, Alberta & Area
Support for nervous system overwhelm, emotional exhaustion, and finding your way back to calm.
If you're constantly overwhelmed, anxious, or running on empty—you're not alone. Maybe you're snapping at the people you love, shutting down in quiet moments, or lying awake at night with a racing mind. Stress and anxiety can take over your thoughts, your body, and your sense of self. It doesn't have to stay that way
You might be:
Always “on,” unable to relax.
Overthinking and mentally exhausted.
Physically tense or jittery.
Overwhelmed by noise, decisions, or even small tasks.
Disconnected from your body or your joy.
Living in survival mode, waiting for a moment of peace that never comes.
This isn’t weakness - it’s your nervous system doing its best to protect you.
When Stress & Anxiety Take Over
Chronic stress and anxiety often stem from a nervous system stuck in fight, flight, or freeze. When you’ve been under pressure for too long—whether from caregiving, trauma, grief, work, or life itself—your system can lose its sense of safety and balance. Therapy can help you gently reset and reconnect.
Meg offer’s trauma-informed, nervous system-aware therapy to help you slow down, process what’s beneath the overwhelm, and feel safe again. Together, we’ll explore your stress patterns, build emotional regulation tools, and reconnect you to your calm center.
Approaches may include:
Nervous system education (Window of Tolerance).
Mindfulness & breath-based practices
Talk therapy focused on compassion, clarity and reconnection.
Somatic tools for grounding and calming.
It’s Not Just in Your Head - It’s in Your Nervous System
As a former police officer, widow, mother & stepmother, just to name a few roles, I know what it’s like to carry a lot—quietly, constantly, and sometimes to the point of emotional exhaustion. I’ve lived through seasons of chronic stress, anxiety, and burnout, and I bring that understanding into every session. My approach is grounded, compassionate, and always paced with your nervous system in mind. You don’t need to have it all together—you just need a safe place to land.
If something in you is saying, “I can’t keep living like this,” please know that change is possible—and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
